POH25: A Satirical Ledger of the Real World

Piece of History (POH) is Unity Collective’s ongoing series of NFT collections that archive global headlines—one per day—through the lens of digital art and editorial parody. Each piece is styled as a newspaper front page, blending sharp satire, surreal visuals, and punchy reporting to immortalize the strange, serious, and absurd moments that defined our world. Every featured story is rooted in real events that occurred on that exact day—though we allow ourselves a touch of humor and creative exaggeration in how they’re told. With POH25, the third edition of the project, we take a bolder creative stance: this year’s collection leans unapologetically into satire, showcasing events not just as they happened, but as they felt—chaotic, ironic, terrifying, or laughably predictable. Each NFT captures a real event from 2025 and presents it in a stylized frame—turning the year’s chaos into collectible art.

For the first time, the collection launches on Ethereum, marking a new chapter for the project and expanding its reach to a broader onchain audience.

Collection launch on Scatter.art — May 22nd, 5PM UTC.

How POH25 Is Made

Every piece in POH25 begins with a rigorous curation process. Our editorial team tracks global news across the entire year, distilling each day into a single defining story. But this isn’t just documentation—it’s reinterpretation. Headlines, subheads, and micro-articles are completely rewritten to reflect not just the facts, but the irony, symbolism, or absurdity hidden within them.

For POH25, we deliberately chose a more radical creative direction: a world where humanity seems to be accelerating blindly toward the wall—fully aware, yet unable (or unwilling) to change course. The collection embraces this tension, portraying events through a lens of collective contradiction, short-term thinking, and darkly comic inevitability. What emerges is not just a record of what happened, but a reflection of how it felt to watch it unfold—somewhere between disbelief and grim amusement.

Graphic Styles

Each selected event is paired with a visual concept, generated via AI using custom prompts tailored to the story’s tone and assigned artistic style. But we don’t stop at automation. Some images are modified and even hand-retouched, ensuring that composition, color, emotion, and satirical nuance are sharpened to perfection. This hybrid process fuses generative AI with human intentionality—making each NFT both a digital artifact and a work of editorial art.
