Piece of History (POH) is Unity Collective’s ongoing series of NFT collections capturing key real-world events from every day of the year. Each piece is styled as a newspaper front page—melding impactful visuals with condensed reporting—to immortalize the stories that shape our world. With POH24, the second edition of the project, we continue our mission to archive global history through the lens of digital art and blockchain technology. Each NFT blends storytelling and design, offering collectors a unique chance to own a moment of truth from 2024. This edition introduces new artistic directions and deeper community features, making it a bold evolution from its predecessor. POH24 builds on the foundations of 2023 while introducing innovative traits and deeper collector engagement.

For POH24, a large portion of mint proceeds and trading fees is used to support the project, promote artists, and reward the community through monthly raffles and special events. Some funds are reinvested into selected NFT assets — including blue-chip collections on Stargaze and T7S case NFTs — which are redistributed as raffle prizes.

Raffle prizes are automatically distributed to winners, and T7S cases can be opened directly on thesevens.app. Additional prizes and community events are hosted on our X account and Discord server. The remaining funds support the development of Piece of History and the contributors working behind the scenes, ensuring the project continues to evolve as a living, community-driven digital archive.

The POH24 edition introduces several creative upgrades and community-focused features:

• Now in Color: All pieces in the 2024 collection are fully colored, enhancing the visual impact and collectible appeal.
• ‘WTF’ and ‘Sins and Smokes’ Categories: Two wildcard thematic tiers featuring bold, humorous, and experimental content that breaks traditional editorial norms.
• Sublocation Trait (Country): Each NFT now includes a country tag, adding geographical context and deeper narrative to each historical event.

Some pieces in the POH24 collection include hidden easter eggs that reference our favorite Stargaze NFT communities. These subtle nods are a tribute to the projects and creators we admire — our friends in the ecosystem. It’s our way of celebrating the shared spirit of creativity and collaboration that defines the Stargaze network.

The creation of the “Piece of History” collection begins with careful research and curation. For each day of the year, top global news stories are selected, focusing on a wide range of categories—from political shifts to cultural breakthroughs, natural disasters, and sports highlights. Headlines, subheadlines, and concise reports are crafted by our team to capture the essence of these events, presenting a snapshot of how the world evolved over the course of the year. For the visual component, the collection draws on AI-Generated Images: These are custom-created to match the tone and content of the news, providing each NFT with a distinctive and original visual representation.

The NFT images are either AI-generated or sourced from the public domain, which ensures no copyright issues. All content is either original (created through AI tools without replicating existing works) or freely available for public use. This approach guarantees that the collection can be integrated smoothly into the blockchain space without infringing on intellectual property rights, maintaining full compliance with legal requirements. By combining technology, art, and history, Piece of History offers a new medium for preserving the most memorable events of the world, available both as digital collectibles and immersive gallery experiences.
